DESCRIPTION:2026 Nagasaki Vigil Program \nTheme of Vigil: End All War including this Patriarchal War waged on the pretext of nuclear weapons! \nA candlelight vigil\, with speakers and handouts to passersby across from the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter & Paul 18th and the Parkway \nAs we mark the 81 years since Hiroshima & Nagasaki\, some of us remembering a film about a man named Oppenheimer which magically showed none of the destruction of the bombs that were dropped. \nWe pause to remember that Philadelphia is a part of the Mayors for peace program. One of the early adapters\, we joined soon after it was formed by Japanese mayors. \nIt is truly a good time to divest from nuclear weapons invested in our city’s workers pension funds.
