DESCRIPTION:The Menwith Hill Accountability Campaign holds regular peace witness events at the Nessfield Gate of RAF Menwith Hill. Menwith Hill is a large surveillance base situated outside Harrogate\, North Yorkshire\, England. The base is run by the US organisations called NSA and NRO. There is surveillance of electronic communications and from satellites with linkage to the 5 Eyes network. More information available on the website https://themhac.uk \nThe weekly Tuesday evening witness is peaceful and designed to make those entering of leaving the base that there are significant problems with unaccountable military surveillance that is used to target and kill people. \nThis demonstration has been going almost every week since July 2000. Menwith Hill is on the A59 Harrogate to Skipton road) and nine miles from Harrogate North Yorkshire. DESCRIPTION:Since March 2nd 2022 we hold a peace vigil every Wednesday: We want to think about all the people suffering from war all over the world and especially in Ukraina. We also exchange thoughts about ways to end that particular war as well as other wars on earth.\n \nSeit 2. März 2022 halten wir jeden Mittwoch eine Mahnwache für Frieden ab: Wir wollen unseren Alltag unterbrechen und aktiv an all die Menschen auf der Welt denken\, die unter Kriegen leiden – insbesondere die Menschen in der Ukraine. Wir tauschen außerdem Gedanken über Wege aus\, die Kriege im allgemeinen und auch diesen speziellen Krieg zu beenden.
