Illinois for a World BEYOND War, the Illinois chapter of the global World BEYOND War organization, is sponsoring an Illinois statewide “Young Voters' Congress: A Forum for Peace and Social Justice” on Saturday, October 17 from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Institute of Cultural Affairs in Chicago.
Ellen Barfield is a long-time full-time peace and justice activist who serves on national boards or committees of War Resisters League, Veterans for Peace, and Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, and others.
We must act together to raise the alarm: to halt the drive to war, and the nationalism and racism that it breeds. Together we say no to rearmament and conscription, and yes to well-funded health, education and public services, decent jobs, and higher wages.
