Making enemies into friends is the focus of small groups forming in September to begin The Work of Love: Setting Our Hearts on Fire for Peace. Introspective questions reveal how we have been seduced by, and are able to set ourselves free from, the culture of control, domination and violence.
Asking questions about the validity of our fears and opening ourselves to creative, life-affirming possibilities for conflict resolution based on a sense of connection and belonging is the focus of these groups. Two groups who piloted this work recently in Eugene reported an average of 17% improvement in a survey for hope, self-confidence, self-approval, self-esteem, dignity, self-care, empowerment, spirituality and feeling beloved.
