We are reaching out to the 100+ organizations that have joined us in the past year in demanding that the New York City Council take action with a resolution demanding a permanent and immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the U.S. supply of arms to Israel. We have taken repeated action at City Hall and in our own Council districts for the past year. Yet, the City Council has been silent.
Over a year later, we invite all of you join a one hour forum to hear about the history and current status of the effort to move the City Council on a resolution (see the recent launch of the campaign NYC Ceasefire Now here and we’ll hear from those groups) , and learn about related efforts that seek to stop city, state, and corporate dollars from funding Israeli apartheid, occupation and genocide.
Our hope is for everyone who has been engaged in this effort to identify where and how they can continue to advocate – especially at a time where we need more and ongoing commitments to this fight, and not for it to taper off.
We will hear from representatives from the Not On Our Dime campaign and the NYC union divestment campaign, and additionally hold time to hear from campaigns targeted private/corporate dollars.
