Webinar: NYC Veterans For Peace presents Professor Kunitoshi Sakurai on US Military Pollution in Okinawa

Guest Speaker Professor Kunitoshi Sakurai will discuss PFAS environmental contamination caused by US military bases in Okinawa, where the SOFA between US & Japan hinders the clean-up of PFAS pollution.

Born in 1943, Professor Sakurai is a Doctor of Engineering (water pollution control, solid waste management, environmental problems in developing countries, environmental impact assessment). He has organized many citizen movements such as the Okinawa Environmental Network. Worked in many countries as a specialist of WHO and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and as a visiting professor of Tokyo University. Professor Emeritus and President of Okinawa University.
