VFP Pacific Northwest Voyage: Multiple Events 2024

Plans are progressing for a great voyage to the Pacific Northwest mid-July through late September! Many groups are organizing events, including Veterans For Peace, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Quakers, Unitarians, Raging Grannies, Washington Against Nuclear Weapons, Nuclear Abolition Now, Ground Zero Center for NonViolent Action, Vancouver Peace Fair, and more!

Which Way the Wind, Veterans For Peace and the Golden Rule will have a table.

Sat July 6, 10:30 am Bon Voyage Party! The Golden Rule and the Madaket will be on the bay together. Sponsored by Which Way the Wind, VFP Golden Rule Project, Humboldt Sea Level Rise Institute, and the 44 Feet Project. Reservations are being accepted for the boat trip and lunch at Jack’s Restaurant, $65.00.

Sat July 27, 9:30 am to noon, Boats by Bangor water protest with kayaks and other boats against the nuclear-armed submarines just 25 miles from Seattle.

Tues July 30, 12:00 pm, Peace Fleet water protest against the fleet of war ships coming into Elliott Bay, downtown Seattle AND at 1:00 pm land informational leafleting near Pier 62 about why we are out there in our sailboat and kayaks to protest against these weapons of mass destruction in our city.

Tues Aug 13, 5 pm, Thea Park in Tacoma – Peace party in the park – music, literature tables, speakers – and the Golden Rule will be docked at the Foss Harbor Maritime Museum dock, a short walk away. We will be open for tours during the party as well as on Sun 8/11 and Mon 8/12.

Fri Aug 23, 4 – 8 pm Peace Arch Park International Peace Party in the Park – on the US/Canada border near Blaine, WA and White Rock, BC – enjoy a potluck, music and talks. The Golden Rule will be docked at Blaine Harbor Marina, not far away, on Thurs Aug 22 and Fri Aug 23 – stop by and say Hello to the crew!

Sat Aug 24, evening event on Granville Island, Vancouver, BC (venue and time to be determined). Families and friends of Golden Rule- inspired Greenpeace will talk about the history of protests by boat.

Tues Aug 27, 6-8 pm Friday Harbor Yacht Club Potluck, music and presentation
