“Reap What You Sow, Don’t Lose Heart!” tells the story of a mother’s and daughter’s debate about war. Can war ever be just? Jennifer met Sean Golden in an ROTC program at a Jesuit College. He became a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Marines and was killed in Fallujah when their daughter, Ellie, was five. Jennifer, one of the first female fighter pilots in the U.S. Air Force, is now a Major and a drone operator at Creech Air Base in Nevada. When Ellie sees a “die-in” at the front gate, unlike her friends and mother’s colleagues, who want to kill the deadbeats, she considers the protestors brave, wants to know more, and begins to study history.
The Rising Together Talkback Theater Company (RT3) is a not-for-profit company in formation. It is the third iteration of the Rising Together coalition building effort – linking the issues of supremacy, equity, militarism and sustainability across generations and identities. RT3 will present short plays with talkbacks designed to help peace & justice groups, schools & churches, etc., raise funds, build their chapters and activate their membership. While “Reap!” focuses on war and militarism, future plays will have a focus on racism, sexism, income, health and climate chaos.
