Bay Area Labor for Palestine is planning a mass labor-withholding action on May Day in the spirit of international working class solidarity. Join us for an organizing meeting next Tuesday, March 12th, 6-7:30 pm on zoom. The zoom link is here.
Many have already signed the pledge card to participate in some form of labor action on May Day, whether a strike, sick-out, walk out, lunch break action, or an alternative that makes sense for their place in the economy and to join rallies & marches. To make the May Day Labor for Palestine action powerful, we must now organize in our workplaces and our unions to gain critical mass. We know that the United States has been deeply complicit in the genocide in Gaza, and that our power as workers comes from the ability to withhold our labor. But labor withholding is relatively powerless as an individual action; its power comes from the collective.
Please join this call if you are interested in organizing your coworkers and/or union siblings to shut it down this May Day for Palestine. We will be discussing a range of escalating labor actions we can take together, what support folks might need in the upcoming months, and we will have breakouts by union or sector to start organizing.
