The 16th annual Izzy Award will be shared by the independent news magazine In These Times for its reporting on worker-centered economic justice stories; Mohammed El-Kurd, The Nation‘s first-ever Palestine correspondent for impactful stories including, “The Right to Speak for Ourselves”; Lynzy Billing for chronicling the American military’s environmental devastation in Afghanistan; and Trina Reynolds-Tyler and Sarah Conway for the seven-part series “Missing in Chicago,” which exposed police malpractice.
