This MLK day, March with healthcare workers to demand an end to the genocide, siege, and blockade of Gaza and immediate access to healthcare now!

Join us 🗓️January 15th 🕐1:00 PM in Union Square for this monumental march. If we don’t act now, the spread of diseases, could kill more people than the bombardments already have.

Whether you’re traveling by bus, train, plane, or car, make your way to NYC. Healthcare workers, wear your attire to stand out in the crowd. Bring your flags, keffiyehs, signs, banners, and props to make a powerful statement. Follow @WOLPalestine for march updates. To endorse this rally, email wolpalestine@gmail.com

As of 2024, the healthcare sector in Gaza is in extremely critical condition.

🏥 Only nine hospitals were operational as of early January 2024, and are working under extreme conditions, lacking sufficient medical supplies and electricity.

🚑 Since October 2023, nearly 300 attacks damaged 26 hospitals and 38 ambulances.

🥼Healthcare workers in Gaza are operating in extremely dangerous conditions, with 374 healthcare workers being killed, 70 arrested, and detained by IOF and many others injured. The OHCHR condemned ‘unrelenting war’ on health system amid airstrikes on hospitals and health workers.

🦠The genocide and health crisis in Gaza have led to a significant increase in communicable diseases, acute respiratory infections, diarrhea, scabies, lice, and jaundice. As of January 2024, there had been 179,000 cases of acute respiratory infection and 136,400 cases of diarrhea among children under-five years old 100 times the normal level.

🚰 There is an acute shortage of food, water, and other essential supplies. Everyone is hungry in Gaza. The ongoing genocide has displaced up to 2 million Gazans, putting additional pressure on the already strained medical facilities.

🌍 The WHO and other organizations have repeatedly condemned the attacks on healthcare facilities in Gaza and have called for an immediate ceasefire and protection of medical workers and facilities under international humanitarian law.
