Join Raging Grannies for upcoming actions for Palestine at UN when General Assembly meets!
World BEYOND War, CODEPINK, and allies are planning a series of actions to awaken the United Nations General Assembly and High-Level Plenary Meetings from September 10 to 28, leading up to anti-Netanyahu protests planned for late September.
On September 21, we will join the March for Peace, Justice, Love, and Freedom, which will start at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza. We also intend to have a direct action on September 24th for the start of the High Level Plenary Meetings (TBD).
Additionally, between September 10 and September 28, we would like to invite artists, performers, and activists to adopt a day/days for their own actions and programs. We suggest using the following Privately Owned Public Spaces (POPS) in the area that we have named after schools, hospitals, refugee camps, and humanitarian “safe zones” that were attacked by Israel:
-
767 3rd Ave – Kamal Adwan Hospital
-
245 Park Ave – Jabalia Refugee Camp
-
747 3rd Avenue – Al-Tabeen School
-
140 E 45th Street – Al-Shifa Hospital
-
301 E 45th Street – Nuseirat Refugee Camp
-
303 East 43rd Street International Plaza – Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital
-
201 East 42nd Street – Al-Mawasi Safe Zone
-
Alternatives (less ideal):
-
425 Lexington Ave (only able to use before 5pm; strict rules)
Access to some of these spaces could depend on police security perimeters so we will have to play it by ear. We would love to see some art, performances, teach-ins, encampments, and more occupying these spaces…
Our overarching demands for these actions are:
-
Enforce International Law on Israel
-
Stop Arming Israel
-
Impose Economic Sanctions on IsraelClick on link below to join in!
