On December 10 from 7-9pm, the Hiroshima Nagasaki Peace Committee of the National Capital Area will honor Nihon Hidankyo and the Global Hibakusha Movement. Please register at the link provided below.
Invited guests include Setsuko Thurlow & Hideko Tamura representing the Hibakusha, Dennis Nelson representing Global Hibakusha, M.J. Park representing Little Friends for Peace, Dr. Arjun Makhijani representing The Institute for Energy & Environmental Research, Leslie Sussan, whose father filmed the devastation following the bombings, and Toussaint Tingling-Clemmons, who was our first youth delegate to The World Conference Against A & H Bombs. Following the presentations there will be a discussion and question & answer period.
Over the past 41 years, The HN Committee has hosted over 100 Hibakusha delegations to the national capital area and organized hundreds of public events where they gave their moving testimonies. During this time of unprecedented nuclear threat, it is appropriate that the Hibakusha should receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
Please mark your calendars for December 10, and make sure to forward this invitation widely.
